There were riots after the murder of former chairman Abdul Rashid about 24 years ago in Ganjdunwada, Etah. In this, Justice Kailash Kumar of the Accelerated Court II has convicted eight persons for setting fire to a shop and robbing it. The eight have been sentenced to seven years’ rigorous imprisonment.
Former President Abdul Rashid was assassinated on 20 August in Ganjdundwada. After this, riots broke out. Meanwhile, rioters entered the house of Mohalla Mansoor, a resident of Musharraf Khan. looted and later set the house on fire.
